 Types of procrastination : 

We can devide procrastination into two parts :


Positive procrastination : 

  • If you procrastinate B task for do A  task… and if A task is more important then B task then you are doing positive procrastination.


Negative procrastination :

  • If you have nothing to do and still you are procrastinate your work for tomorrow or for next day then you are doing negative procrastination and here are the ways to overcome this kind of procrastination.


Before moving towards the ways to overcome procrastination , lets check why do we procrastinate ?


 Why do we procrastinate? 


The reason of procrastination is different for every person ….but these are some common reason of procrastination …or these are some reason for why we procrastinate?


Confusion :

  • Confusion is one of the most important reason of procrastination.
  • Sometimes, we feel confused and don’t have proper idea or guidelines to do that particular work.
  • So, we delay that work or not do that work at that time.


Laziness :

  • Laziness is the biggest reason  for why we procrastinate.
  • Infect laziness is a very big problem like procrastination and in some people’s cases laziness is the synonymous of procrastination.
  • People feel lazy or not to feel to work so they just procrastinate the work and keep that work aside and go to sleep or watching tv or start using mobile.


Fear of failure :

  • Some times the fear of failure. 
  • Stop us to do the task our mind feel the fear of failure or start thinking about..
    • what if “I cant to that work? Or 
    • what if I fail in the particular work?  
  • So sometimes this fear wont let you to do the work …


So these are the some main reason of procrastination. Now, lets check some other reason of procrastination..

Make to do list : 

I hope you all know what is to do list. Basically, to do list is the list of the activities which you have to do. in to do list you should make a list of activities which you have to do ..you should make to do list with time and date . one bonus tip you should  make to do list for every day, one other to do list for week and for a month.


Take small steps :

Break your to do list into small steps and work on this small steps so the work don’t seem so overwhelming.

 Use ABCDE Method : 

  • In this method first make a to do list and then break the tasks into ABCDE ..
  • An “A” items is defined as something that is very important, this is something that you must do. 
  • “B” items is defined as a task that you should do….it is not as important as Task “A”.
  • “C” Task is defined as something that would be nice to do but for which there are  no consequences at all , whether you do it or not. For example to make a phone call to friend.
  • “D” task is defined as something you can delegate…that means these tasks can be done by others …For example order something or go to market for bring something.
  • “E” task is defined as something that you can eliminate .


The rule is that  you should never do “E” task before “D” , “D” tasks before “C” , “C” task before “B” and “B” task before “A” task.


Stay away from distraction:

Stay away from the things and person who distractes you from your work It can be either mobile or TV or your friends or your relatives.


Meditation :

Meditation is the solution of many problems like distraction , laziness and many more. Meditation will help you in improving concentration and you can overcome procrastination.
